sound trake pro analyst

The green box is the audio (clapping sound clip) that I’m using in the film. The other 2 boxes below are different way to change the volume and pan of different parts of the audio.  I’m changing  the volume and pan in the clip. I’ve changed the volume so the sound of clapping dies out slowly in the clip. This gives the impact that the audience is real and not just an effect added as the clapping dies down like it would in an real life feel.

I also changed the audio pan from the sound coming for the centre to the right. This when clapping happened not everyone is in time so the clapping goes down and right so the sound  fixes on the last people clapping.

This show the sound of a clip for my short film Shernot Holmes. the sound for this clip is in broad casting sound area which is -12 to -6. any lower the sound will be hard to hear, and any higher the clip will be too loud and will over take the talking or other sound that you want the audience to hear or make there ear hurt if there wearing headphones. however you might want some sound to be lower than -12 if u want something faint in the background and you might go a little over -6 if you want to make a sound strike out at the audience. E.G in Shernot Holmes we have a scene where some one dies so we might want their footsteps below -12 and slowly build up the other sound so the audience knows he's the villain and the sound when it get above -6 when the villain kills his target, also by slowly increasing the sound between -12 and -6 for this scene it wont make the audience jump up because the sound too loud.

The box to the right lets me add sound effects like making a normal male voice become a female alien. These effect want be used in the film however if we have to change the script to a voice over that the villain makes we might want to change his voice to make it more of a mystery on who the villain is.

I used these programs to make the foley and SFX. I  wanted tried to make my own foley sounds however due to time and to mic problems i had use sound trace pro as it had all the sound that i wanted on it. I used 2 different footsteps for the foley and 2 different bodies hitting the floor for the SFX sounds. i choose 2 different sounds for each as the walking foley was used for 2 different people both are different shoe size and high and weight. The body hitting the floor war also different people hitting the ground both different size and weight and 1 fell on the floor the other was pushed. As a result of this combination i thought it was best to have 2 different sounds for both Foley and SFX to give of realism to the short film.
